About Ali

I’ve been running on a daily basis for about 10 years, and I’ve run 8 marathons, including Boston, Philly, New York, Chicago and Cape Cod.  Running is what I do to keep me young, sane, happy.  It gets me out into the world every day, into nature, into cities, into neighborhoods.  My goal in life is to be able to wake up in the middle of the night at any time and be able to run a marathon and do 10 pullups.  If I can do that, I’m a happy camper.

I also am pretty passionate about biking.  Not for fitness on carbon fiber bikes, although that’s also a great thing.  I bike to get places, around town, to friends’ houses, to work.  I believe that if everyone biked more, our world would be a quieter, cleaner and healthier place.

I thought the combo of marathoning for a biking non-profit would be a great combination.

I’ve started Bloo Bike, a business to do bike sharing in the U.S., work as an environmental consultant at Woodard & Curran and play ultimate frisbee on Brute Squad in Boston.

My lifetime marathon P.R. is a 3:10 (7:20 per mile) in Philadelphia in 2000.  The last one I did was 2005 in New York, where I ran a little-trained 3:37.  Bets on this year?

Thanks for reading!

Best,

ali
